This is what i found so far.
Whenever we've come across a deadhead, the coyotes have always chewed off the nose.
I finally found one
Congrats! Keep looking!
Found this matching set tonight. That makes 5 matching pairs and 31 sheds overall on the season!
Found this dead head last weekend. Saw him across the creek about 70 yards off.… However, I had to walk a mile down the creek to cross the bridge and a mile back to get it!
That was worth a couple of miles to get! Great finds.
All the bucks in one area that we pass through seem to have dropped, including one with a huge rack and one eye.
Wow! I think I'd be hitting the ground hard trying to find that set if I were you...Beautiful Buck…
Good luck. That deer hangs out mostly on private land owned by someone who doesn't like trespassers. I talked to one of his workers and he said that the landowner lets his employees have access to hunt sheds, so we have competition! LOL
We covered adjacent properties yesterday and found nothing, so I bet one his hired hands snagged it already.
Sorry, what I meant to say was that I would be looking for that hard if I were you...darned SIRI! LOL
It's all good. It is a gift to find each shed. Seeing that one eyed giant without his antlers made me smile. I'm glad that he survived another year and fathered many fawns!
Hopefully we will encounter a few more sheds before the critters get to chewing on them!
Rodents are really starting to get to them now. Four of the seven that I found today had been chewed on. I left this one out there because it was so far gone.
Found this dead head… I have never found one, shed or dead, With a drop time this size… And split G2's on both sides as well!
Here are the other six sheds I found this morning. Hiked for over five hours. This brings my grand total to 38 sheds!
Covered the bottom areas, found a roadkill doe and a buck skull today. Slogged through some serious mud to see if anything was dropping. Nothing but wood ducks, mallards and geese.
Spoke to a friend who lives in Cincinnati. Apparently, there is a huge population of city deer there in the parks, and the bucks are still packing bone there.
They do have a lot of urban deer there, and some monsters.
Found my first of 2 things this wknd ~ 1) my first hanger being in a shrub and 2) its the first ive ever found on public property. My husband and I together have found 19 sheds so far but we still have deer on camera with some antlers. It's an absolute addiction for us lol. I close my eyes at night and see sheds! We walked 10 miles this wknd, found 3.
