When I was 11 years old I would walk for miles frog gigging by myself . I loved it and I never counted . Back then I had to buy batteries for my flash light . I would turn my light on when I got to a pond and off after I gigged it . I would walk as much as I could without having a light on . Going through the woods, I had to burn my light . Staying out almost the whole night long.

I use to catfish beaver creek ,with my uncle , back when I was a boy.We would set ten or fifteen bank poles, and build a big fire and check the poles every couple hours or so .If he heard a frog ,he would take a cane pole,,tie a small hook on,,and slip in behind that frog, he would lower that hook down in front of the frog, and the frog would grab the hook.

Petzl or black diamond if you want to spend a little money and get a good one but I have had luck with one I found it Lowes called LED Lenser. has the back head battery pack and adjustable focus upfront, These days with all the Chinese knock off stuff they’re all pretty much good biggest thing is to throw some good batteries in them And keep some spares in your back pocket
