Have a buck that already shed his velvet, this is from 8/25
Wow, that seems early.
Got one that has shed its velvet to.
Wow...I know some are earlier than others, but seems early to me too.
Have 7 bucks regularly on cam and all had shed by 27th. 2 still had velvet the 25th. Was just getting ready to make a thread when I saw this one.
I have one that has shed so far. Has been shed since the 24th. All my others had velvet as of the 29th. Time to start checking with personal encounters now. Good luck fellas!!
I'm mostly going by the pics coming in from cell cameras but I'd say as of yesterday roughly half of the bucks were either hard bone or in the process of shedding. Last Friday I walked up on a nice buck in Trigg county that was already hard bone and cotton white. My guess is we are going to be somewhere around 75% shed by the end of the weekend.
Yes, very surprising. I will check my cameras on Saturday after my morning hunt. I am eager to see for myself. Good luck everybody on Saturday.
Usually my big bucks I have on cam will shed a few days before season while the small ones are usually a week or two into it
I have a three year old ten point on my place that shed velvet on one antler yesterday.
Ones I have seen or gotten pictures of are still in velvet.
Well I posted yesterday that it seemed early to me, but as I was driving in to the farm yesterday afternoon, I saw three bucks - two were obvious yearlings and still had velvet. The third was a two year old 8 pt who had completely shed.
