Anyone been out passing by the clay wma booth dove field this year? Last year the dove fields failed and there were 0 birds. I hope this year is not a bust. Just wondering if the state has started anything out there?

My guess is with all the rain, some fields are not going to get planted. Just got ours out this past week.

I have the same problem with the rain . my fields are not planted in rows like last year but scattered all over . I planted about 8 acres in rows and the other 15 are broad casted . It started raining the last week of May and up until last week . My broadcasted are about 8 to 10 inches tall and my planted ones are just now coming up . 22 acres in total .

I have two bags of Clearfield seed left over

The Booth Tract dove fields did get planted. The sunflowers look good so far based upon a conversation with the biologist there last week. Some of the fields were planted in winter wheat and some in millet. By diversifying the grain crops, something should attract doves in case the sunflowers fail again.
