Looks like you boys had a good day,big smile on that boys face there
Yea he got his personal best smallie, 17"
Awesome! Youns are tearing the creeks up so far!
I would never Wade a Creek, always was afraid of snakes
This can't be right...everybody knows that all the creeks in Eastern Kentucky are filled up with hollow fills and mud and silt and dangerous chemicals from all the coal mines. Fish can't live in the terribly polluted water of EKY and people can't drink it either.
This must be fake news.
Yep. You're right. Fearsome huge man-eating watersnakes under every rock and log, just waiting to pull you under. Better not risk it, and just let us dummies get in there and have all the fun, er, take all the life threatening risks.
Dang it! Noodling season starts June 1st and I got you and me signed up. (I'm gonna hold the stringer).
Best fishin' I've ever experienced were in creeks. Especially Elkhorn.
The smile on the boy is worth every second of the effort.
He's starting really enjoy it. He's learning to cast pretty good and keeping his slack out of line because it's moving water. Still needs a lil improvement with hook sets but he's really catching on.
I grew up wading these creeks . A lot of over hanging branches. I told him if he learns to accurately cast in those conditions, he won't have a problem fishing anywhere.
I love creek fishing. I grew up fishing big creeks in Floyd and Johnson counties. I loved it, might catch redeye, suckers, hills or a load of bullheads(I called mudcats back then)
I've caught a many bullheads growing up. I remember loving to see a thunderstorm that would muddy the water but not raise it. It turned the mudcats on. Take a can of red worms and have a ball.
