Weather forecast shows low of 25 and high of 42!
Not a lot of deer in that area to begin with. Think it’s a zone 3 or 4 county. I’ve got a friend that owns land near the park. But on the plus side. They do have giant 10 running around down there near the campground. They say he’ll go 170”+.
Wouldn’t that be great if a kid took him? There has to be some more bucks with some age. The question is where will they be?
The big buck and his running partner had been staying in a grown up field near the campground.
The weather forcast is pretty bleak for 10 year olds and their daddy at the moment. It is almost a 5 hour drive for us. Never been to the place and not sure that we will even make it up there now!
As of now they're forecasting snow and rain for Saturday. But who knows what the weather will do.
We made reservations for the lodge for the weekend!! My girls are excited!!
I looked at Lake Barkley state park map and most of thier golf course was open for the hunt. Most of the golf course at Dale Hollow is off limits. You would think a golf course would at least shut down in early morning or evening to help manage the herd s bit.
I can’t imagine anyone enjoying golfing this Saturday morning with the weather forecast!
Golfers are a bit odd! It would not surprise me in the least to see some goofy guy chasing that little ball around!
Just booked a room for me and son...mom and daughter are going to stay at home since no indoor pool.
We may only last an hour in this cold, but the chance to hunt an area that has not been hunted in several years should keep the blood a bit warmer. We are looking forward to nice meals in the lodge and deer in the woods....can’t wait!
We made it! Got a blind set up and just about to dine in the restaurant!
Sitting at the lodge now, hopefully everyone is safe and successful in the morning
We are here also!!! Got a 13yr, 12yr, 11yr, 10yr old girls, and 2 dads...... What was we thinking!!! Good luck to all the hunters, and hopefully stay warm!!
I'm pretty sure that the last time I was here on the quota hunt a few years back, there were playing golf that time but it was rather warm to the best of my recollection.
That is awesome! You need a group pic for sure!
