Try to pattern a ridge trail

If you are bowhunting, try to go with a crossbow as it is still in till the end of December. Sorry I ddn't see this posting earlier. But just in case you are struggling to get one...you have till mid January with a bow. Bring a climbing deer stand and try to ambush in the evenings as they come down to lower ground or fields to feed. They like to follow a ridge line down. Don't post or move into your stand if at all possible till the air is cooling off and dropping or moving down hill. You don't want to spook them with your scent. You might try setting up a ground blind along a bench, and spot your climbing stand just off a trail cross wind along the same bench. That way if they come out early, you might still catch them. Morning, get above them and try to work into an ambush position as they leave the fields or work up iinto the timber. They like to walk the benches and cuts as much as possible.

After that you have to spot, stalk, and hopefully close on them while on bed. Warm temperatures and a little rain helps there. Otherwise, you just have to go slow and not break any limbs or twigs. You might be able to wait for them to come your way if you spot them on a bed the day before and then be there waiting for them or on the path as they head for it in the early morning light. Otherwise,, good luck!
