With coon season being open I had a question I didn't see answered in the hunting guide. Is it legal to hunt them at night without dogs by calling them instead?

    Found this on https://fw.ky.gov/hunt/pages/hunting-regulations.aspx

    • A hunter may use electronic calls or attracting devices for furbearers during the furbearer season.

We can use electronic calls for coyotes at night, so from what I can see you can use them for 'coons.

What I’ve seen of calling coons,is you go out and find den trees, the coons lay up during the day,you set up close enough to watch those den trees, and call the coon out of the den.

I'm familiar with that, I want to know if I can do it at night.

I have been thinking about doing this with an Airgun.
Note: I am Not the HatsanSniper dude o_O

Coons and deer seem to get along. Last year I got a pic of coons and a bobcat side by side.

Can you not just hunt them over a corn pile? Put out corn give it a day or two then sneak in a bit after 10:00 pm and light them up. Thought about doing this many a time just cant drag my butt out of the house that late.

Why don't you just buy a couple of dog proof traps an trap them. Very easy to do

Yeah I've thought about doing that too. I just like calling predators and wanted to try it at night, but I ain't above shooting them off a corn pile lol.

I do that from time to time around my house to keep them away from my chickens. But I'm more into calling than I am trapping. However I would like to learn how to set snares for coyotes and maybe learn some cat sets.
