On the side of the road at the beginning of the eastbound lanes of the Cumberland Pkwy, south of Park City. He's squashed and quite dead, so it's not going anywhere. I knew they were in the western part of the state, but that's getting pretty central when you figure right outside of Glasgow......

I have heard they are moving progressively east. Don't know why...

Used to see these as a kid in western Kentucky...long time ago. They weren't abundant. But you would see them sometimes. Mainly squashed on the side of the road.

I saw 2 belly up on the way to church yesterday.... pretty much common place anymore around home..... and the Purchase area in general.

Which at first several years ago... I admit they were a novelty of sorts.... rare sight. But populations are booming around here the last few years.... pretty much as common as a possum or skunk road kill. Getting where everyone is not paying near the attention to them.

Is it against the law to shoot one in Kentucky? I know in other states they are considered as a nuisance (similar to groundhog here) and can be eliminated year around.

Saw one dead on the mountain parkway in Stanton last year. Don't know if someone brought it to mess with people or it made it here by itself.

We're freakin eat up with the things. Which I'm about 10 minutes south of Hardin ..roughly 5 miles north of Murray.

I don't think I've traveled a single time down hwy 80 between Murray & Aurora without seeing a couple splattered this summer.

Dang yotes won't even drag the carcasses off the road... lol.

Heck .. I expect anytime now to find one in the garage feeding at the cats bowl... lol.

Which on that note I'm pulling my cams at the farm tomorrow. Done tagged a buck and not interested in seeing what I can't shoot now. But may set one up here at the house on the garden which is sowed in turnips now. As no doubt I'll get some deer pics but just "might" get an armadillo.

Be nice to actually see one alive vs. splattered.
