Never was able to connect with a buck this year, Took a small doe early season so not completely eating tag soup, Kind of disappointed with deer activity lately cameras are not showing very much at all past three weeks. Spent yesterday pulling them off trees and putting away for acouple months, Good luck to anybody else still On the chase

Pulled all my cams yesterday except for the one behind the barn and that's just mainly to see when the bucks start dropping.. Found what was left of a dead doe. I think it was the one I shot back it Nov , so that's my quota of two doe off this property. Also found some fresh rubs. Good luck to rest still at it, now just for tradition I will be in the stand to watch the sun go down on the last evening.

Don’t feel bad I didn’t connect with anything and I’m gonna be out of town this weekend so the gig is up. They’ll be there next year and I got some sources for deer meat if I need some bad enough.

We only had 2 really good bucks on camera all season, we killed one and the other was only on camera one time. Strange season, we usually have a pretty good crop of bucks going back many years. All the good ones we had pics of last year late or after season were no-shows all year. Very weird. I'm guessing the incredible acorn crop we had spread them out but who knows. Maybe next year will be better.

Similar for us. We had several end of year last year that were pretty good deer showing up regularly. One showed back up but was just a slightly bigger 8 that my dad killed that was super easy to identify missing half an ear. Other than that, we had one other about 160 inch 10 that showed on camera twice a few weeks apart and lots and lots of 2 years old bucks. I ended up getting a nice 145 inch 11 but I think he was just passing through. Not much good showed up regularly. Hopefully a few stick around for next year and it should be a nice year.

I saw more bucks this year than ever. Just not one I wanted to shoot. Very surprised after the EHD hit we took. To me, I had an outstanding season without releasing an arrow or pulling a trigger. I’ve got high hopes for next year if the Lord blesses me to be able to go.

We also had a batch of transient bucks disappear on a property they go through during rut and blow out of post rut. They all didnt show.

I’d leave them up all year. Won’t hurt anything and you might gather good info. Plus you won’t want to check them as bad and can leave them alone for longer periods of time.

I always like using this time to do a little scouting looking for tree rubs, abandoned scrapes, etc...helps me plan out next season.

I like to give them a small break this time of year. Plus it’s such a pain in the butt going to check them in this type of weather, I have to use the tractor to get to some spots and it just tears the fields up. Also when I commit that I’m quitting for the year pulling those cameras keeps my mindset right instead of always itching and wondering what’s out there still. I left one out behind the house but the others will stay put up until horns start growing
