I used to be a member but have no idea what they do.
Yep...they sure have done nothing.......
So, how does one join? I have yet to get a response.
You can go here http://kentuckysportsmen.com/membership/ and pay online or catch a LKS officer at a outdoors event and get charged $5 less.
I sent a check in if memory serves. Annual is cheap compared to the going rate of $35 for most organizations. Lifetime membership was $150 - also cheap compared to others.
If you belong to a club that belongs to LKS it's only $6.00 a member.
I have my Kentucky license plate ala League of Kentucky Sportsman and I optionally donate ten bucks to them every year, for several years now, when i renew my truck registration. I have never heard a peep out of them, I thought i might get a newsletter or something like that, but nada, zip. I guess I am not a member. Well it looks like they do some good for the sportsman here so I will keep supporting them in a small way. Besides, the license plate has a handsome buck on it.
Just for point of clarification due to Privacy Laws the KY DOT does not release any info on applicants who bought specialty license plates for any reason. They feel it is up to the owner to seek out the organization on his/her license plate. LKS does not have access to that info.
I am a officer in the LKS 6th District and would be happy to take your email and add it to my LKS list for announcements if you pm it to me.
Ok, thanks gdb. I appreciate the info and will pm you.
