What does everyone recommend?? Does anyone know anyone with a Honda pioneer and if so what do they think of it. Looking for one for hunting.

I just bought a Kubota 500. I love it. I drove a lot of them around before getting this one.

My hunting buddy looked around a bunch and just bought a John Deere. They have come up in the world of side by sides lately and have several different models now. He got a lot more options for lot less money than the Pioneer of the same size. JD has a longer warranty period than Honda also. I have always loved Honda vehicles, but they are pricing themselves out of business. This is what he bought:

My cousin has a 1000 Pioneer, that he recently purchased. He loves it!! My uncle has one of the 500's and it is essentially a four wheeler with a cage in my opinion. I have been in my cousins a couple times and it is a freaking beast. I have a Ranger 700 xp and love it too. For hunting, any of the three have ups and downs. Drive as many as you can and pick what best suits ur application.

I have a John Deere 825i. Going on 3 yrs no issues what so ever. I will say it is not geared as high as some so if you plan on trail romping you may get left behind. But as far as climbing and pulling and hauling it is a beast. I too looked at the pioneers when i bought but at that time they were hard to get and for the money as stated above i was able to deck out a deere for basically a stripped Honda. Down sides would be belt versus shaft driven train. I also really liked the Pioneers ability to have folding seats in back for dual purpose.

Sale it or trade it in. Regardless of what you think about it they keep a high trade in and resale value in comparison to a lot of ATV/UTV brands.

You can get a lemon with anything. I know people who have rangers that are 10 years old and going strong. No problems at all.
