That’s a cougar. No doubt about it. 100% mountain cat.

Yesterday, I was talking to my uncle back up in eastern Ohio, where I grew up. Basically, right along the river, about 15 miles north of Wheeling, WV. He told me that for the last few days, a female cougar and her cub had been spotted by several people. They were setting up trail cameras and trying to get someone to come in and live-trap it. Pretty wild, especially when you consider that there must be at least one male within breeding range.

Not trying to start rumors or spread gossip, but this is what he told me. Other friends up in Ohio have also told me that they have been seeing bears in various parts of the state, which never used to be the case, at all.

Pretty cool. I hope to see some legit evidence especially with a cub involved.
