Anybody know if they are in there right now? And, if so, are they in schools or just here and there? Thanks.

Thanks, much. I was, actually, planning on going down there this weekend to drift the Cumberland for cats and was hoping to get some fresh bait beforehand. I'll let you know what I see.

Be interested as well. Smithland too if anybody has been down below it on the wall fishing for them.

Dumb question here. But what is a skipjack? I know what we used to call skipjacks when I was charter fishing but seriously doubt it's the same thing

An oily baitfish that gets about 3/4 of a pound.

Are there any Asian carp in those waters?

If there are Asian carp there, then there is a chance that they could get mixed up with the fish getting caught for bait. That is how they could get transported to another body of water.

Skipjack won't live long enough to get them to another waterbody. Plus anything connected to the ohio for about 150 miles upstream has them. Unless you are fishing in smaller lake the carp are already there.

My favorite place to catch them is above the dam, they are getting harder to come by below them every year. They were catching them right at the bottom of the stairs at Barkley a few days back

I was there Wednesday and Thursday. No skipjack. No spoonbill. Wasn't even any carp to snag. Started out fishing for skipjack. Caught a few crappie on accident. Zero skipjacks. Then started snagging and in 5 hours only hit 3 silvers. But they only had one gate open, dead in the middle. Should have took the boat
