May be breeding smokey to this nice little female in the next couple months. Will post more info on her soon as the guy sends me pedigree and other things.

Any chance you would be willing to breed my female elkhound? She is the best squirrel dog I have ever had as is all her litter mates. I'd like to cross her our to a good feist. Figured I'd throw it out there in case you might be interested

I love elkhounds. Had a few growing up. Smart dogs and tree smart as Luther said. One of the best coon dogs I ever hunted with was half redbone and half elkhound. He wasn't as good on a cold track like a full hound, but he could flat out tree the coon. I had a full elkhound that was a dandy squack dog. Very loyal dogs too.

I have studed cracker out to a few different dogs. Guy I got him from bred him to a cur as well through good pups. I won' breed my dogs to just anything. They have to be treedogs. If a dog is a good squirrel dog and tree dog then yeah. Actually the combs china dog that is a super grand squirrel champion that is in crackers pedigree is half elkhound herself. I would recommend him being bred to an elkhound over smokey due to that common link through ancestry

It amazes me how smart they are. My buddy has a full litter mate to my female and 3 more from a different litter. They have all been great dogs.
