Thanks Gooch, just finished the bow up a few weeks ago, there are some pictures of it taking shape in the Traditional Archery thread. It's under "Trad bow hunting".

Shooting from 15 to 30 yards walking back and forth trying not to think about yardages. The only shots where I actually know the yards is 30 because of a corner fence post. Shooting instinctively with no sight reference doesn't require one to know yardage.

That's some pretty good shootin. I'd love to have a long bow or recurve that actually fits me. I like shootin stick bows way more than compounds.

Enjoyed hunting with a compound for many years and still hunt with many that do. But since going totally trad my hunting passion has kicked into high gear. Now it even occupies me in the off season. Either I am building a bow, a string, arrows, or just shooting, either way it's in my mind. In anticipation of hunting Elk this fall I have been practicing at longer distances than normal. Finally feeling confident at 30 yards, here is my three arrows from thirty yesterday...[IMG]
I may never get two in an apple again at 30 so I'll show it while I can. I know this is nothing from a compound but for me it's great! This stuff lights my fire!!

Good shooting Carpdaddy. Where you gonna be elk hunting Carpdaddy? I will be after elk and mule deer in Colorado for 3 weeks in September. Currently shooting a Predator DX hunter with Easton Axis traditionals, muzzy Phantom 125's. Similar to y'all I hunted with "training wheels" exclusively the last 20 years and got bored. Last 2 years have been recurve only and Im having a blast.

Thanks Pointpuller; even a blind Hog finds an apple once in a while! I got drawn for a cow archery tag here in Ky, still trying to locate a good place to hunt. Good luck on your three week adventure, I made that journey once back in my younger days. Are you going to hunt them with a gun, compound, or stickbow?
