I have been hobbled by a pretty nasty umbilical hernia surgery this spring, so I can't get out and check the early wildflowers like I love to, so I was pleased to see some of the wild plants I transferred to my "wildflower garden." So far I have bloodroot, trillium, & twinleaf.
Get well soon! You are a wise man to garden with native plants, as you can appreciate the beauty of these species, and the serve as "ambassadors" for the ones in the woods coming up. Before my family took a liking to heirloom tomatoes, I had a similar patch of wildflowers in our yard. When they started popping up, we knew that it was time to get out in the forest and watch the Earth wake up!
You pretty much summed up my philosophy! When you look around, there are many wonders to behold. Too few appreciate the wild plants.
