Our first split down here in SE Louisiana has been way off our regular pace. Despite the slow action most of us in the duck club keep going out in the marsh duck hunting as often as we can with the hopes things will turn around and we might have a hunt that gets the blood going.

I have been duck hunting 42 years. Saturday the duck Gods smiled on me with the shooting of a Mottled duck with a transmitter on its back and a band on the leg, a first for me.

We were sitting there rather bored and about 8:30, we see a pair of Mottled ducks pass a good distance to the left side. Hit the duck call which is usually a waste of time they both come towards us one in range, I had the Benelli ready for the shot and knocked it down. Me and my buddy cranked up the boat to go get it and we were shocked at what we saw. Cha Ching!!!

There is a phone number to call on the band and a phone number to call on the transmitter.

You never know, that's why we go. I was lucky to get a goose with a transmitter in Shelby Co. With numerous bands & collars that one is special. Congrats & good luck on your season!!!

Very nice trophy! Congratulations! That would have to go on my wall. If they asked for the transmitter back I would have to take lots of closeup pics so my taxidermist courld make a replica.

Meeting the girl Tuesday who is in charge of the project. She is going to give a dummy transmitter for mounting and info on the duck.

Nothing wrong with ice cold Miller Lite...

Hunted in South Louisiana the last couple of years. We killed a Mottled Duck with a transmitter and leg band as well.

Nice looking duck... That'll be one you remember.

So with that much hardwear I'm guessing you had to lead him a little less.. :v))

I most amazed by how clean your boat is!!! Mine probably has 50 lbs of limbs and trash in it and the season is still young!
