What's on your lanyard and what's your favorite?
Only gonna find echo on my lanyard #1 acrylic timber and #2 acrylic xlt or breaker. I've ran every call out there and had the opportunity to call for butch at rnt but Ill stay true with Rick Dunn and they guys at echo. Top notch service and best calls in my opinion.
Young guys laugh when they see my lanyard but it has killed so many birds in the last 35 years that I see no reason to change. It still set's him right dead in the decoys and sounds as good as anything out there. I have a bunch of new calls and they are top quality, but I still grab the "killing sticks" as I call them when I head to the field. Goose calls are old wooden Big River, long flute style, but deadly. My favorite duck call is a 40 year old Olt that I rebuilt with custom reeds about 10 years ago. I also like my old Haydels. Backup goose calls are Tim Grounds original calls. I collect calls and have probably 300-400 calls......hand signed by Ken Martin, Glenn Scobey, Eli Haydel, Phil Robertson, Tim Grounds, etc, etc.
Dog whistle as well and a couple other calls, snow goose, etc.
I think we get a thread like this every year about Christmas time. So here is my answer . . . 2 Mallardtone double reeds, 2 Mallardtone single reeds, and 1 6n1 duck whistle.
RNT MVP, Gander Valley Hybrid, 6 in 1 whistle, and my dog whistle.
Hayes speck, hammer time, mallard time, meat hook, 6 in 1 whistle
Ron Howell Custom Calls, Hayes Cobra, Grounds Half Breed, Foiles Straight Meat
On my lanyard - 1 Echo single reed open water, 1 Echo single reed timber, 1 Jim King Guide Special goose call
In the bag just in case - 1 duck commander gadwall call, 1 duck commander drake whistle, small variety of Echo inserts
I get the inserts from Echo, and have a guy turn the other part for me on a lathe.
