Has anyone ever used the H.S STRUT old mama hen paddle box call?
Bought a hs strut slate ,early eighties I think,it was green plastic ,like this had two holes in the slate.Came on a lanyard with striker and scuff pad ,attached to it.When I started I tried to get one of every thing in the stores.Never did use it much, started making my own, that’s the pleasure I get out turkey hunting, fooling that ole boy, with a call I made.
I've lost so many strikers throughout the years but none in the last 12 years. I attached my woodhaven laminate to my MAD crystal with a string. But getting a vest that works properly will save a lot of money. These days vests have plenty pockets. First turkey vest I ever purchased was in '95. Is had to old school mossy oak and 2 big pockets and a game bag. That was it.
I gave $50 for it. Now days a vest under $100 is unheard of in most outdoor stores.
Give me a mouth call any mouth call!!!!! A $3.99 has strut will work just as well as those pretty camouflage $15.99 mouth calls.
Just got a cabelas tactical 2 vest regular $99.00 but there 25% of now. My last vest lasted 12-15 years
Ray, see my earlier post in this thread. Looks like the striker that came with the before mentioned HS Strut call. I'm lucky enough to have 2 of them.
I carry two calls that I made myself, American Chestnut slate, and a persimmon ceramic
Wow!! Nice indeed!
