Im gonna go out on a limb and say it probably isnt a persimmon. Just a guess... it's not as dark or blocky as the ones I've seen. If you can get a picture of the buds on the limb, I could probably identify it further. Having just a pic of bark makes it really tough.

Could be a number of trees: Persimmon, Black gum, Cherrybark Oak. Update after the leaves have come in

LBL is all around enjoyable for me. I love it out there. The entire place needs to be managed better from a habitat standpoint, but there is something about being there that just feels good. I've got a few spots for turkey but I think Im gonna give this other place a go first.
