.350 Legend?

Recently moved to Michigan for a short time. I’m back in KY this week to hunt. Anyways- up there you are only allowed to use shotguns, muzzleloaders and now a straight-cartridged rifle (450 bushmaster, 350 Legend, etc). Needless to say, I saved up and bought a brand new 350 Legend. Brought it back to KY with me and I’m gonna use it here on opening day instead of my 30-06. Could be a mistake, but hey- yah live and yah learn.

Just wondering if any of you all have experience with the 350 Legend?
What are your thoughts/experiences?

No experience but I do know one thing. Walmart in Pulaski county has a shit ton of ammo for the things.

Like stated above I see lots of ammo for the 350. If I was choosing between your rifles I would have brought the 30-06 instead.

Does anyone here own and shoot one of these? Curious how people like them and if you think they'll be around for a while. Seems like it'd be a good all around brush gun. Probably cheap predator medicine too.

My buck is on page 3 of this thread. The bullet I extracted is on page 4.

Stick with the 180gr bullets. My mom and wife shoot them, one friend shot mine and bought 2.
I love everything about the cartridge.

Dead is dead, OP. If it will kill a deer in Michigan, it will kill them in KY. I don't have one, but I've heard good reports from those who do. Other than the fact that your effective range is about 200 yards or so, you're good to go.

As mentioned, as long as your range isn’t out past 200yds it’ll kill a deer just as good as anything else, maybe better.

As hard as the 180’s hit steel at 300. Honestly, I wouldn’t shy from it. They just aren’t going to expand well without a rib impact but a .35” hole through both lungs is still a .35” hole.

Love mine, bought it for my 6 year old last year. Now I use it more than any other gun. Not a huge fan of detachable mag though.

Rage in the cage. Field points kill better than them if you believe the lore.

Ive killed deer with 30-30, .30 carbine and .223 with no expansion. Obviously expansion is great stuff. Holes in both lungs aren’t great for health either though.

That’s awesome. Thanks for sharing your experience. I couldn’t find any of the federal rounds you endorse so I bought a couple boxes of the 180 Winchesters xp- Not thrilled with their accuracy to be honest but I’m used to very straight shooting calibers like .243 and 25-06. I’ll get back up to Michigan next week and look for the federals. When I first shot it I chuckled at the lack of recoil lol. Feels and shoots really good. Most of my shots here in EKY are under 120yds so I think it will be a great little rifle. Thanks again.

I have a 450 bushmaster. Kicks like a young mule but it shoots great and I love it.

I do not own a 350 Legend, but I think I may get one one of these days. From the research I have done, I think that as long as your shots are within 200 yards, it should work well. Where I deer hunt, that is plenty.
