A little bit off subject but I know a lot of old timers here in Harrison Co and Bourbon Co talked about 40 years ago there wasn’t any deer. That it was a real major thing to even see a doe. I realize not all parts of the country were like that but not saying that old timer in the pic sure didn’t have the populations like today and he probably worked hard for that one

I also remember my mother telling me stories that when she was a little girl my grandfather would take her and my two uncles and build them a fire up in the woods real nice then go off deer hunting for day

We used to go hunt what’s called Jones branch back in the mountains 4x4 access only take two to three hours of 4 wheeling and we would camp at the same bottom every year and make our shelter from trees we would cut for a frame and enclose it with mining curtain and heat with a barrel stove
