I’ve played around with the chat gpt app a little bit. It’s pretty crazy how much content it can write with very little prompting. And then there’s this.

And here’s what I think about…We only know about what’s commercially available. What’s been developed by the government or these research labs that we don’t know about? I’d say AI is a lot further along than we know about

The new version of chatGPT, GPT4 just came out 2 days ago. It's a huge advance over what was possible even last week. I asked it about deer hunting lol.

Me:

What can you tell me about how to go about hunting white-tailed deer in Kentucky on public land? What strategies should a hunter use to locate and shoot bucks during archery season? What would be the difference in strategy in each of the following months: September, October, November, December, January.

GPT4:

Here's some information on how to hunt white-tailed deer in Kentucky on public land, along with some specific strategies for each month during archery season:
  1. Scouting: Before the hunting season begins, scout the public land you plan to hunt. Look for areas with signs of deer activity, such as trails, rubs, and scrapes. Use topographical maps and aerial photos to identify potential bedding areas, feeding locations, and travel routes.
  2. Hunting stands and blinds: Setting up stands and blinds in strategic locations can improve your chances of success. Look for natural funnels, pinch points, and areas with high deer activity. Be sure to follow all safety guidelines when installing and using your equipment.
  3. Scent control: Deer have a keen sense of smell, so controlling your scent is important to avoid detection. Use scent-free soaps and detergents, store your hunting clothes in scent-free bags, and use scent-masking sprays or attractants to cover your scent.
  4. Calls and rattling: Using deer calls and rattling can attract deer into shooting range, especially during the rut. Practice different calling techniques and timing to mimic the natural sounds of deer in the area.
  5. Stealth and patience: Moving quietly and patiently through the woods can help you avoid detection and increase your chances of encountering a deer. Take your time and be observant of your surroundings, using cover and terrain features to stay hidden.
  6. Shot placement: Proper shot placement is important for a quick and humane kill. Aim for the vitals, which are located in the chest cavity just behind the shoulder. Be prepared to adjust your shot placement based on the deer's position and movement.
  7. Safety considerations: Always follow safety guidelines when hunting, including wearing appropriate clothing, using proper equipment, and knowing your surroundings. Be sure to follow all local regulations and obtain any necessary permits before hunting on public land.
Here are some specific strategies for each month during archery season:
  • September: Early in the season, deer are still on their summer feeding patterns. Look for areas with lush vegetation, such as soybean or alfalfa fields, and set up near them. Pay attention to wind direction to avoid spooking deer with your scent.
  • October: By mid-October, bucks begin to establish their territories and are more active during daylight hours. Look for areas with fresh rubs and scrapes, and consider using rattling and calling techniques to attract deer.
  • November: During the rut, bucks are more active and can be more easily lured by calls and rattling. Look for areas with high deer activity, such as food sources and doe bedding areas.
  • December: As temperatures drop, deer will focus more on finding food sources. Look for areas with available food, such as standing crops or food plots. Consider using scent attractants to lure deer into range.
  • January: Late in the season, deer will be more focused on survival and may be more wary. Look for areas with natural cover, such as thickets and brush, and consider hunting midday when deer are more likely to be bedded down.
By adjusting your strategies based on the time of year, you can increase your chances of success when hunting white-tailed deer on public land in Kentucky.

Yeah that's fake. Nothing about a big ol corn pile 50 yds from a heated blind.

That’s not really how AI works now is it?
I mean, with GPT4/ChatGPT you can generally prompt it to say whatever kind of stuff you want it to say. You can get it to act like an emotionally unstable woman or a more chill woman lol.

Once AI matures, it will change the medical field drastically IMO. Imagine a revolutionary new procedure performed in ny or somewhere with great results that small town doctors have no clue about with the same diagnosis.

It has a great potential to do good things but, factor in humans and someone will eventually weaponize it. The possibilities are endless.
