Antarctica hasn’t warmed in 70 years despite rising CO2 levels; climate scientists baffled

You can't get there from here.
C’mon man … you’re more intelligent than to be pandering to the terminally foolish.

Climate change is all about trends over time and their acceleration or deceleration compared to historical norms.

Todays climate change problem is the increases in avg global temperatures that are accelerating faster than historical norms and its effects on increasing localized weather extremes.
And it's completely foolish to think the United States is going to make one bit of difference.

What historical norms? What equipment and technology was used to determine these “norms?” How accurate do you think these historical data points are? Your entire cult is based upon junk numbers you dope.

As a nation, the only one we can govern is ourselves. With that said, and as the leading superpower in the world, I’m all for leading from the front by doing the right thing for our environment for others to follow … often through the influences of sanctions, treaties, etc.

Although this is true, the world looks at us as a leader to make a difference.
No they look at us as fools. We accelerate our green energy at a much higher cost while our competitors continue to us fossil fuel at a much cheaper and more efficient rate. What’s that means is the can make everything cheaper and price us out of the market on everything. Not only that, they even control the means of making the green energy we want to use. Fools isn’t strong enough to actually describe how stupid we are.

So you think if the US goes green while the rest of the world doesn't we will set an example?
Will we outlaw cheaper products from other countries? Will we tax any "non green" products coming in?
Surely you are not that foolish.

Absolutely! We need to set the example and pressure the rest of the world to join us - now. Trump pulling us out of the Paris Accord (adopted by 196 parties!) was an embarrassment for the U.S., in my opinion. Thankfully we have made efforts to get back on track since our leadership changed. That’s not to say I am a big fan of the Democrats, but on this issue, they are on the right track.

There are a lot of climate deniers on this Board. Not very representative of the Americans as a whole. Many of you like to argue, but it’s really hard to dispute facts. And the fact is, climate change is happening, it has been happening for years, and it is accelerating - and that ain’t good.

Didn’t say we would (too many terminally foolish), but we should. What’s wrong with doing the right thing, simply because it’s the “right thing” to do?

Few subjects are less worth worrying about than global warming. Even if it happens in a substantial way, the main thing that will happen is an increase in tillable land in Russia and Canada.

Agreed … too many $$$ to be made, which can also be used to manipulate the terminally foolish, for there to be any meaningful change.

I’m 62 so it won’t affect me, but I hate to think the environmental challenges my grandkids and beyond will face due to our ignorance and greed.
