I went black Friday shopping early this morning.

I would drive up there for That.

My favorite part as well but for some reason we didn't have any turkey left over this year

We soaked our turkey in a cooler filled with birdbath brine,maple syrup, and makers mark overnight. I got him out around midday, dried him off, and basted him with melted butter and maple syrup before coating him with Texas Sugar rub. After setting for a half hour or so, I threw him on some pecan wood until he hit 160. I have to say everyone agreed it was the best turkey they ever tasted, full of moisture and very flavorful throughout.

Just plum foundered ourselves on chunked deer ham, deer oysters and deer heart.

Battered and deep fried. I’m miserable and it was worth it.

There’s not but two and they only grow on bucks. That’s the top cuts. My favorite part of the whole deer. Just gotta peel em. So tender!!

Breakfast this morning

Chopping meat in the garage tonight. Always make little piles of stir fry trimmings. Dug in the freezer and found an old bag of chopped pepper and made a little pepper streak. Darn good!
