Wind is perfect for my new spot, second sit ever here.

I’ve noticed from your post this year that you’re hunting several times but not seeing much. Years past I recall you seeing several. You not hunting same place as in past or are numbers down in your area?

I’ve seen plenty. Just not this morning. I’ve seen 10+ on five different sits. Just like usual, shooters only once or twice a year.

In the blind. Hunting a bench below the ridge line. It’s been a consistent travel corridor all year. Just thick, have to be careful choosing your shots.

My view. The bobcat was beyond and right of that ladder stand in pic 2. Near that log. Had it stayed on trail it would have been wide open in the flat. Stupid cat.

nothing this morning till 12 00,first time this year,I didn't see deer in a sit,back in 3 doe and a spike

Butchering hogs all day today and tomorrow. Hope to get out Sunday with one of my girls to try and get them a shot at something

Couldn’t figure out for the life of me why I wasn’t seeing deer this evening… got out monocular and spotted an orange fellar setting up a pop up blind in the middle of the deer funnel across property line 🤦‍♂️. I wish him well.

At last light a decent buck ran a doe straight at me. Thought I was dead. They veered before I shot in self defense.

Watched a lil 4 worry the hell out of a doe for an hour. Saw 6 more does/yearlings. Back at it in the morning.

ended up this evening seeing 14 doe,1 spike,what should have been decent 8pt,but had 2 points broke off right side,Tomorrow is my birthday,Never had opertunity had a dandy on my birthday, see what happens tomorrow

Nothing today.. no new cam pics, Ill grind on tomorrow.

I got into my stand in the pitch black.

Saw one doe way off. Then had 14 doe in a parade come 30 yards from the stand. They were looking behind them and acting crazy. I knew it wasn’t me, perfect wind….. finally a little fawn came busting into the field with a coyote hot on her trail, he caught acute lead poisoning. I let him lay.

The hunter became the hunted. Scaredest I’ve ever been in my life. View attachment 107239

30 minutes later had a decent 10 point come in slow at 25yds. I did some quick math and gauged it at a high 130” and put a bead on his shoulder for practice and let him walk.

Then the doe came back. Avoided the coyote. After an hour with no further sightings I grabbed the coyote and am heading to lunch and moving spots. “I was packed for all day sit but that spot smells like coyote guts”.

Don’t worry. I took the collar off so I wouldn’t be like that lady on Facebook.
