I’m still using “real blackpowder” has anyone used the fire sticks? If I was to upgrade from a sidelock they look pretty slick. I keep seeing them everywhere.
Problem with that is, you're locked into one specific manufacturer, and limited firearms that use it.

Maulmart on Irvin Cobb Paducah had 3 containers of Blk.horn for $52 each, had some 209 primers less than $20. No percusion caps, n forget black powder over here. Have not found a store that has is. I'sm not driving 400 miles or more to buy at scalpers prices. I have 600 small rifle primers n an accurashot nipple on my Hawken. So i can go for at least 7 years

What’s the best way to clean Blackhorn?

I’ve googled it and it’s inconclusive.
Same way you should clean your rifles and shotguns. Commercial product that dissolves powder, copper, plastic. BH is not water soluble like the other black powder substitues that only require water to clean with. Some benchrest guys turned me on to BoreTech Eliminator. Been using it for yrs for all my firearms cleaning, but there's nothing like the smell of Hoppes.

Thanks, new to Blackhorn and basically used everything I had…CLP, Muzzleloader Cleaner, Hoppes and CU+2.

As far as the smell of Hoppes…I only just learned so many people were trying to avoid it…maybe it’s nastalgia for me, but I could wear it as cologne lol.

They have Hoppes air freshener for car. It’s glorious. Just not conducive to killing critters.
