Hats are the one thing I don't do. The Janome hat hoop is lacking in the good design department. I broke the one I have, but it didn't do very well anyway. I really want to buy a machine that has a good hat hoop like those in the mall, but I don't get enough request for them to spend another $6-8k on a machine just for that.I know a guy looking for hats, richardsons I think? We did have an Etsy.com page, but they got greedy with their fees. Now we just have a facebook page and a facebook group. I don't post there often, but it gives an avenue for people to place orders via messenger. Most of my orders are through a few boutique type shops that subcontract their embroidery to me.Have a site for ordering?
I would need to make well over six figures to do it full time. The work flow is just enough to keep me busy 3-5 nights a week. Normally what I make off it in a week, my son shoots it up practicing trapshooting. The major downfall is you can only make so much do to the machine sets the pace on what you can make in a day.I would think one of y’all could do this full time. I’ve been thinking of something to do so I could quit working. This thread knocks one off my list. Or is it just because you don’t wanna be full time?
I found a finished picture of that UK quilt. My mom has some kind of monstrosity quilter deal. It’s like 12’ long. I don’t know what they cost and don’t want to know.
That’s awesome your using it for gifts. Looks like y’all got a good thing going.
