According to this article China building more coal plants than ever. There emissions will more than cancel the trillions we spend. If it was that serious China would not be all gung-ho with coal. Sorry, SCAM.

It's a huge driver in why China will take over as the worlds superpower. Cheap energy, and lots of it makes you top dog. While we are turning all our kids into homos and running to the green dream, they are building a great military and manufacturing.

I'm just a bumpkin from KY who leans right so for those of you here that that is a problem keep scrolling.
I am degreed in and work in the environmental sector. Used to be my focus was on regulatory compliance - air, water and waste. Now I am spending most of my time on green spirit initiatives and zero waste to landfill. I can tell you unequivocally this is a big shell game. It is an effort to shift the balance of power from the fossil fuel countries and companies to green energy ones.
There are/were tons of "green energy" loans that companies snatched up that have ridiculous and costly to implement "strings" attached related to green energy and zero waste implementations. We are looking to ADD 1.6 million dollars in equipment and additional labor just for a waste segregation area at our site.
Contrary to popular belief, you don't make money recycling save for very few commodities and specific metals. Most recycling is a cost. The recycled material is also inferior to virgin materials. In plastics for example, recycled or regrind is capped or all together forbidden to be used in some products. It is an ill-controlled variable in your process and end users don't want it.
The energy side of stuff is another money suck shell game. We pay roughly 10k extra per month to subsidize a wind farm in illinois so we can claim we are 100% renewable source electrical energy. Our company has banned the further use of fossil fuels and set targets to be 100% electrified, whether it makes sense financially or not. The local electrical distribution is currently what is holding us back. They simply cannot transmit the load that we draw.
Anyway, fun stories from the reality of the green energy shift. Expect to pay more, have more black outs and overall have less reliable power in the future, but you'll get a warm fuzzy when your product has a carbon-neutral and zero waste certification sticker on it.
