Good shot. Nice. I was bushhogging Friday and got my lower part of field done and was up on my upper part and groundhog came out. Wish I had my rifle. Been a longtime since I busted one.

They are few and far between these days. I spent many days in my teens and twenties pursuing the in Kentucky and Ohio. It takes me almost a year now to shot what I use to on a good day back in the 80's. Coyotes and lack of permission to get on property have put a big damper on my groundhog shooting.

Just to make it interesting now a days I leave the 22-250 and 243 rifles in the safe and use the pistols since most of my shooting is done in small barn lots.

I saw one a couple hours ago at my farm over on the hill. 250 yd and I did not fire my AR...thought I would bring a Real Rifle over ther in a day or two.
I was over there filling up Holes they dug in my barn that I just emptied most of the hay out of.
Coyotes about wiped them out and they moved in with us.

picked up a couple of new barrels for the Contender and went out for the start of the summer season.
Top one is a 13" MGM barrel in 17 Squirrel. Basically a 17 Hornet shortened down to under an inch in case length
Next one is a 12" Gary Reeder barrel chambered in his 240 Banshee. This is a 22 K-hornet necked up to 243 caliber.
I've really gotten hooked on the 22 Hornet based wildcats. Especially the 17's they kill way beyond beyond what you would expect for such a small pill.

I have a few MGM barrels myself. In 2008, they built me the best .284 barrel I have, to this day. I also have a .17 Ackley Bee Contender carbine (18") from them that is a no doubt no bs cloverleaf 100 yard gun.

I had SSK rechamber a 22 inch 17 HMR barrel to 17 Ackley Bee. Can't get away from the pistols long enough to work up bullet and powder combo for it.

well I got out to do some hunting today about noon. Finally had a day with no human or cattle traffic around my favorite spot on my neighbors property. This one set up on the vertical beam to survey the area and fell victim to the 256 Win Mag with mismatched furniture.
