Got the first groundhog of the year today. T/C Contender in 256 win mag at about 75 yards.
I have a few MGM barrels myself. In 2008, they built me the best .284 barrel I have, to this day. I also have a .17 Ackley Bee Contender carbine (18") from them that is a no doubt no bs cloverleaf 100 yard gun.View attachment 78811 View attachment 78812 picked up a couple of new barrels for the Contender and went out for the start of the summer season.
Top one is a 13" MGM barrel in 17 Squirrel. Basically a 17 Hornet shortened down to under an inch in case length
Next one is a 12" Gary Reeder barrel chambered in his 240 Banshee. This is a 22 K-hornet necked up to 243 caliber.
I've really gotten hooked on the 22 Hornet based wildcats. Especially the 17's they kill way beyond beyond what you would expect for such a small pill.
I had SSK rechamber a 22 inch 17 HMR barrel to 17 Ackley Bee. Can't get away from the pistols long enough to work up bullet and powder combo for it.I have a few MGM barrels myself.
