Lol this thread is great. I don’t like people trespassing on my property for any reason period. But you guys that say coon hunters are all thiefs and dope growers are honestly a little unhinged. You all are starting to sound like journette.

I would bet 10 times more deer hunters cross property lines in ky per year than do coon hunters. There are good and bad in both.

I deer hunt and run dogs. I do not run my dogs where I deer hunt during deer season. Therefore, I do not run my dogs on land I have permission to run my dogs during deer season if I know someone deer hunts that farm.
I have found most land owners will grant permission in the off season for me to run my dogs. Some of them we have an agreement I will text them and let them know I am going to be on their land that night.

You would lose that bet immediately..........In fact, you owe everybody on this thread $100 for making such a ludicrous statement.

I don't know about that. I don't know of too many coon hunters around me anymore. Seems like a dying breed. I could be wrong of course. I have seen far more deer hunter trespassing issues than coon hunters but I am not a land owner.

Exactly!!! How many deer hunters do you think cross that property line without permission to retrieve a deer or track it? I bet wayyy more than most people would expect. Ill admit...years ago I did it. When I found him he was about 10 to 20 yrds on the other side of an old broken down fence that was the property line.

Good lord I wish someone would just delete this thread. I started out posting on this and liked seeing the deer hunters get pissed so easy, but it’s getting old now just sounds like a broken record playing over and over again. We all know you love your deer and you don’t like nobody even looking at your land and you definitely don’t like coon hunters. At the end of the day it’s going to be what it is .We might as well like it and go on, you know kinda like our president we don’t like him but he’s there learn to live with it and go on I guess.

Usuallywhen someone makes a post like this, they are not a landowner, usually never have, and never will, and could care less about landowners rights. No one has a right to tresspass on anothers land, for ANY REASON ! Its just the law, plain and simple, to retrieve dogs, or game, without owners permission. If i shoot the worlds record buck, and it jumps the fence, and dies within 6” of the line, legally i have no right to retrieve it. I’d hate it, but if denied access i would have to stand and watch it rot.

I have owned a small tract of rural property that I have enjoyed for 30 years. My reason I own it is providing me and my sons a place of our own to deer hunt. I do many things to facilitate deer hunting such as food plots, land and forestry practices etc. Last night around midnight I happened to be nearby and stopped to check something in my barn. As I was leaving, I found a truck parked at my other entrance gate and some men on my property
with headlights and flashlights. I had no idea what they were doing, I was stunned and stopped my truck. One of the two announced "can I help you?" I was calm but kinda angry
to get questioned by THEM. Asked what they were doing and they said coon hunting. They said had permission from my neighbor and they were close to the property line. "We have been hunting here for 40 years" didn't make me feel any better. Bottom line I told them not trespass on my property and respect the property line. It was too obvious they when I left they were going to go and do whatever and wherever they wanted to off the blacktop road. I read where coon hunting opens Oct 1st. I really resent this situation. I do all I can to attract and hold deer all thru the year and they and their dogs come in a few nights and disrupt my deer paradise. Please comment.
Before I read everyones else's comets, I made it through page 8 I think before posting. Back when I was much much younger I had some close friends with hounds. I would invite them down to the farm and we would hunt. At the best we would shoot out 3 coons in a night. Since then others would come and ask permission to retrieve there dogs I always give permission but add please kill the coon. Several time I have had dogs tree below the house near where I keep cams. Several times I have put on my pants and headed down in the woods. I always say your welcome to come get your treed dogs just shoot the coon. Across the way on Dads place I use to get pics of coon hunters each year on trail cams. I started trapping coons and the number of coon hunter pics decreased.

Now back to the bigger issue. You do not appreciate the idea of them being on your property no mater how long they been on your neibor. I would recommend buying a couple dozen dog proof traps and spend a little time and run traps on your place. If you do this you will not only remove the coons on you but also the coons they hunt on your neibor. Like I said earlier on a really good night we use to shoot out 3 in a night and only would run the farm one night a week or two. On a good morning you can catch 4 or more coons and if you run traps daily for a month that adds up fast. If you remove the coons they will stop hunting because there dogs dont tree there anymore.
