Coyotes chasing Turkeys around TVille WMA

Taylorsville WMA, had my coffee with the sunup the day after a heavy rain, there was a lot of action. Saw deer, turkey and coyote on the move. Also one skittish raccoon. Didn't get any shots off at the yote but once the sun was up there was a lot of sign in the fields. Didn't see one single squirrel. I left around 10am.

I’m of the opinion coyotes might get a nesting hen every now and then but otherwise they’re pretty clumsy turkey hunters. Bobcats on the other hand aren’t.

Nest raiding SOBs are the bigger issue

I was in Nebraska bow hunting deer one year. Had a flock of over 100 turks in the grassy draw near me maybe 150yds. I watched coyote go thru that flock 5 times trying to get a bird, and every time the birds would just jump up and then land and maybe move 20-40yds and that was it. Coyote finally got disgusted and went up over the hill. I still want to remove every one I get a crack at but I worry more bout Bobcats and nest raiders more.

Ive seen that same drill multiple times myself. Exact same result. Also watched coyotes attempt to catch a buzzard out of group that was eating a dead deer carcass....with the same result
