Cutting shotgun shells

I used to work with a guy from northern Minnesota who said that they used to take the 00 buck pellets out of the shell then split the pellets with pliers and then use piano wire to string the pellets together and then pack the pellets back into the shell.

I'm sure this would make an ugly hole....but soooo many things could go wrong.

They sell shells like that. They call them bolo rounds. It has a piece of cable with lead balls on the ends. Nasty looking holes it put in a mannequin they shot with it. You can see it on YouTube along with some other crazy rounds like the dragon's breath round.

Old ballard guide told about this blowing wings off geese and stuff. I still unsure if he was pulling my leg

Yes and it will penetrate a car skin at 25yds. Don’t know about entire door as I was young.
