I have the Burris Fast Fire II on my 410 Turkey gun. Really like it. I keep a spare battery in my turkey vest, test it each morning before heading out to make sure it doesn't need changed. Bird starts coming in I turn it on.

guess im the odd one on this. have had one on for a few years and took it off. it does help if head alignment isnt perfect but put your cheek down and make a good shot and no need for one. I had one I couldn't shoot because battery died that morning. I am a Keep It Simple kinda guy.

Have the same routine every year,I put a fresh battery in red dot. Easily get 100+ hours each season, never have had 1 quit in middle of hunt. Also buy 1 that you can control how high that dot illuminates. I bought 1 years ago, looked good until I turned it on in bright sun and couldn't see dot at all on high setting. Had to hunt in shadows to see dot. Sold that 1. If you have a stigmatism like me the lowest power keeps that tail on dot from blurring your shot. Good luck.

Xactly....like smoke alarms in your house, replace battery yearly even though they're good for a couple of yrs.

Just curious how many people use red dots on their turkey gun, and if so whats some pros and cons of trying to hunt with them instead of iron sights. And i dont care to spend the money as long as i get one that is good quality. So what would you guys recommend if i do decide to go with this instead of iron sights
Leupold, Vortex, Sig, Burris, Trijicon. I have all i mentioned. Trijicon is good, and more expensive. Downside with the Trijicon is you have to remove scope to replace battery. Look at www.Eurooptic.com demo models. Like new and save a few bucks. Last i looked, they had a few Leupolds.

I've use one that came with my mossberg. Not sure of the model but it's not real pricey. I wear readers when I work and it makes it easier to hunt. That way I don't need to bring a pair with me.

I use a EOTech XPS2-0. It gives a large field of view and there's no red tint facing the gobbler like some of the other red dots.

I bought my son a 20 ga with a red dot scope already on it. He loved it, and used that gun for years. The only down side falls back on me for not changing the battery. Lesson learned the hard way! It cost him a good Tom, but it was still a fantastic hunt that we still laugh about.

I turned my old 870 into a turkey only gun. Bought a mount that I can mount my red dot on but still see my double beads on the rib. Just in case! I bought a Sig scope that has easy access to the battery. No regrets. Never used one until I started taking my granddaughter. She gas some minor vision issues and this really helped her. I love it now. 50 years of turkey hunting shooting a bead, but I like the dot. Especially with the TSS. I’m a righty. First bird i shot with red dot was lefty straight behind me. Worked perfectly.
