Dogs Chasing Deer

None of your neighbors' cats have ruined your morning? What a shame. There is nothing more special than having your morning ruined by a neighborhood cat. Ha!

Sounds to me like a few of you are simply afraid of dogs. When I was a kid, we didn't put dogs up nor have stupid leash laws.
No cats have ruined my hunts, but they have ruined many quail and young poults lives.
Sounds like your defending irresponsible people that don’t keep their pets off other peoples property.

Years ago I worked with a guy nicknamed Rocky. Coworkers would always come to the break room and ask if anyone wanted a cat. Ole Rocky would always ask if it was a 50 yarder or a 100 yarder.

Lol, actually attempting to cook, while it sprinkles off/on, changing up my planned menu...

Isn't exactly easy. Dogs are extremely interested but know better...

I would and have talked to my neighbors about their pets, and I think everyone deserves a chance to do what is right. So far for me it didn’t do any good to ask them to control their pet. We live in weird times, most people think more or their pets than people… 100% of the time so far I ended up taking care of the problem myself. I also don’t agree with just putting it up during deer season. Your pet does not have rights to be on my property… Be a good neighbor and put your pets up.
I talk to my neighbors with sense if I have an issue with their dogs. If a Neighbor doesn’t have any sense I don’t bother talking, and there’s a big difference between a dog getting loose occasionally vs one that roams free all the time

I sent this picture to my area CO and he told me that there is nothing that he is willing to do about it.

I know of a lady that contacted the county dog catcher back when the county had one about dogs running deer. The dog catcher came out to the ladies house and wrote her tickets for not having her dogs within the glass storm door registered.

Tell someone that you are a having a problem with their dogs running deer and they will tell you that's what dogs do. And when someone else takes out their dogs, they point their guns at you and your dogs.

SSS seems to be the only option.

Luckily for me, my neighbor shot his own dogs for ripping into little kids.

You read between the lines. 4 german shepherds, one pitbull mix, and a beagle came over the pass and strolled past our living quarters as if we weren't home. Naughty me, I let Tank out and the dog pack scattered across the hills, howling, tails between their legs, in every direction like a flock of turkeys. Tank caught one of the shepherds.

This is an annual discussion with the same outcome. So my reply dogs do very little damage. They may be aggravating to hear and see but never seen them do much harm. I watched them many times. The deer stand and listen to the dogs barking and don’t waste their time running until they get close.

In farm country people let dogs run and it’s not good to shoot a farmers dog. That’s going to cause people to lose hunting privileges.

IMO did need to be under control, too many times have drop offs killed my free range chickens , don't get me wrong, I'm an animal lover, rescued many animals from canines, horses and felines but if an animal is on my property then it belongs to me and I don't need any more than my two dogs, puppy heaven is filling up in cecilia

Dogs chase deer until they can no longer run then they chew parts off of the deer.
