I believe your supposed to wait 20-21 days before you put anything in the ground behind it. Somebody here will give you a for sure answer

About 1/3 of an acre of our field is eat up with weeds. Field is 5.8 acres. I ran out of preemergent (Spartan and Prowl) and it was in the part of the field where the Peredovik sunflowers were planted, not the Clearfield, so I could not spray with the lightning, only sprayed with the Clethodim. Amazing to see how weed infested it is. Rest of the field looks good, just need some more rain to keep them growing. Reinforces in my mind how important the chemical strategy is.

My goodness. It looks like pigweed, maybe? If so, it'll get taller than the sunflowers. I know someone here (and maybe it was you Rob) talking about using a wick bar. If those get taller than the sunflowers, see if you can get a wick bar and 2-4d the heck out of them. Pig weed is something you don't want to mess with.

Thanks for the info, I never did purchase a wick bar but did ask about them either last year or year before, I did use a painters pole and roller cover and took care of a few problem areas last year with some round up, might have to get creative and figure out a way to get some round up on those unwanted plants without getting it on the sunflowers. Might take my 30" self propelled commercial yard mower and mow down what has grown so far, minus the sunflowers. If I had any cultivating equipment I could cultivate them like feedman suggested. I guess worst case scenario is that I just simply mow down that section of field and leave as bare ground. Sounds like I'll have fun experimenting. Thanks,
