No Dove for us in my part of the world. The KDFWR use to plant two dove fields on WMA property locally to me(or fairly local anyway).. They stopped planting both of them, their website still lists one of them but they never actually planted it..

Hunted one of the Henry county public fields from 11AM to about 5:45PM. Fired about 15 shells total. Did get to meet an awfully nice fellow that tried to put me in a better spot which I really appreciated!

Hunted public land and me and my buddy got limits but it took most of the day. The hottest action was across the field. I know several guys were getting double limits and taking them out from what we overheard. Can’t believe the game wardens didn’t check.
We got there just after 6 and had our stuff out and as public land is, had four guys surrounding me 30 yards away. Didn’t care at all they were right on top of me. Make the hunt much tougher.

Dove fields are pretty much like anything the goverment has there hands in they usually suck!
Last yr they had sunflowers and corn along with the basics, this yr all I saw was corn and what ever comes back on its own.
I know doves migrate and it hard to have them here just like ducks but put some effort into it and plant some killer fields.
Loyds in Crittenden added a new field at some time it been 15 yrs since I hunted there I drove over last Sunday and the front field or old field was exactly the same as yrs ago and I didn't see a dove around just some pigeons!
It's sad to see the lack of effort from fish and game our commissioners are letting us hunters down.

I hate to be “that guy” because I normally don’t complain too much about KDFWR but they are so enamored with Elk and Bear here in the mountains that the just don’t care about us small game hunters it seems.That or they are just too busy with the bear and elk to bother with a piddling Dove field..

Three or four years ago that field probably had 10 acres of sunflowers planted now as you stated they commissioned all that ground out trying to get a check from corn harvesting and from what I saw that afternoon there was maybe 1/16th of an acre of planted sunflowers

The way I see it if there going to have a field then they should do it to be the best it can be!
Plant plenty of what ever it needs to be awsome!
The one at Crittenden is a joke the front field is just some rag weed that's been mowed same as its been for yrs its absolutely a joke to be called dove field.
Might as well throw out one of those blue kiddie pools and call it a lake, we pay way to much money for liscense ammo and other stuff for hunting in ky for them to not put in any effort!

It would probably be worth it to have a good dove field.. id love to have one within a reasonable driving distance
