Sounds like the property is similar to what I have hunted since 07 in Scott Co. Now we have deer but it’s primarily a travel zone, not resident deer zone, so it’s hit and miss. They cleared one hillside of cedars in Spring of 20. It’s helped some. I saw a few about every sit this year and decided meat was better than being picky and not getting anything and killed 3 young does. If it’s a travel zone then last year you surprised them but somehow you’ve become predictable and they are “skirting” the area while you hunt. Just my .02. I’m far from knowledgeable when compared to some but I hunt a darn crazy place that’s unpredictable and people are like, “You hunt where? Your must have deer all over you!” But they just don’t know what it’s like. At the same time I’ve seen a couple of monsters taken right in the area so I know the potential is there.More I think about it.. yes.. bunches of them
Yep. That’s all I want is to see a few. If I can see a few, shot opportunities or not, I call it a success.Seeing zero deer gets old quick and tries your patience that's for sure
I have to agree with you.. I started hunting in 1996... and what you just said matches what I am seeing being just a travel area.... the direction of the few trails and what I have seen points to a travel areaSounds like the property is similar to what I have hunted since 07 in Scott Co.
