First hummingbird yesterday

This male received a rude awakening from Rufus a few moments ago.

after perching for a while, checking out the coast, and making the mistake of believing all was clear, before finally hitting a feeder. Rufus came in out of seemingly nowhere at this point, a fraction of a second later.

So fast, I did not even manage a blur of either one, when I really thought surely I had managed it.

Nothing but a spider web remained.

It's official.

My creation also attracts large dragonflies.

The beast ruined this shot, as he does many, running down the steps startling it away, before I could dial in a focus.

2-4-1, but only one can be easily found.

The other hiding behind a feeder, shape of his head can barely be detected.

They are actually and quite easily seeing the camera shutter move, as opposed to simply the glare off the back casing of this phone. One absolutely hates it but continually returns. He was looking at it here while feeding and quickly threw a hissy fit.

Chase ensued soon after. Caught a cardinal without even realizing it.

After this shot a moment ago,

he even aggressively buzzed within one foot of my face and quickly past me, intentionally having flown into the covered deck area and not a standard, filed flight plan by it.

Miss America just flew in again but was too skittish to feed, with my dog resting at the top of the steps beneath the hummer tree.

She took off toward the blackberry jungle back there, the beebalm within it no doubts. She must have nestlings. It's suddenly high traffic, with battle tactics having escalated. Her fault.
