Been a while since I've seen a gray but we have lots of reds. I think coyotes impact on fox numbers are way overblown by some as we have plenty of both as they do and always have out west.
My only concern is my 18lb jack russell she thinks everything wants to play and the wife leaves her have run of the yard all day, at night when I get home she's got toys and bones laying all over the sidewalk. The way I look at it is in hard times, the rabbits I can eat. The fox I will not. If it’s near my house and critters it needs to go.
Yotes kill them as they are competitors. Once the totes move the foxes come back. Happened in my parents area in Ohio. We didn’t see a rabbit for years but once we did we started seeing foxes again.I'm in the bluegrass region and i don't see or hear foxes anymore. I bet it's been years since i've seen roadkill.
Anybody else notice this?
Haven’t saw a grey live since 2009. Ive been covered up in reds but yote sightings are becoming more frequentI see grays all the time on trail cams. A coyote every now and then. Zero reds. At the house we've had a red and he'll be a short-timer if I get a shot at him.
