I know it's been a busy year and we haven't gardened like we normally do. The garden this year doesn't look nearly as good as your all's does.

Hey Barney, Are you doing those from starts or direct sow? Also are the cornfield beans a greasy bean?
I put em in from transplants that I started in June. There's probably time for an early cabbage to mature if it was direct sown right now. The cornfield beans aren't a greasy bean, but I have some greasy beans growing in the patch of gourdseed corn.

Barney, I have some banana peppers planted in buckets. They have green beautifully and have bared some. But everytime they fruit I lose almost every leaf on the plant except the top. Then they will re bloom. Any ideas?
Gotta keep a constant feeding routine when growing in a container, and try to keep the container from ever drying out. It's amazing how much feed and moisture a plant needs when it is producing.

I’ll hit em with some miracle grow and see how they react

I don’t feel like it’s ever dried out. I water every morning when it’s not raining

I have my first garden in probably 10 years this year, it was really late due to weather, work and vacation. My first planting of Silver Queen is making silks, the second planting is about knee high, so I put urea on it a couple days ago. I have a couple rows of KY Wonder green beans, but after the monsoon we had a week or so ago almost one entire row has died. I have enough okra to feed two or three families and one hill of squash is more than we can eat. Still haven't had the first tomato though, soon hopefully.

The big ol goodun's have started ripening!

Baby cornfield beans are setting heavily in the blue corn.

Greasy beans in the gourdseed corn.

How they got to name greasy.

One of my kids favorite unknown beans growing in Tennessee red cob corn.

My big hands didn't really show this beans size very well.
