Garden 2022

I picked three five gallon buckets of silver queen yesterday, which really surprises me. I gave my brother and sister probably three dozen ears, kept eight out to grille, the rest I cut off the cob and this morning I cooked it down, so it'll be ready to freeze when it cools off. It was planted either late in the first week or early in the second week of June. It's supposed to mature in 92 days, maybe that's full hard? I have picked lots of squash, one batch of okra, which I promptly fried, and one tomato, a small one at that. My tomato plants are covered in blooms, just no tomatos. Should have green beans soon.

I'm thinking for supper tomorrow night, pinto beans and cornbread, fried (creme) corn, fried squash, fried okra and grilled pork chops. Then when I can move again, vanilla bean ice creme with Hersheys chocolate syrup on it, and a cup of coffee. That should set me up pretty good!

we had 2 batches of corn come in last week we put up 12 bushel and sold about 30 bushel. our garden is winding down fighting blight still in the tomatoes but they are still producing. peppers are producing well. getting a lot of peppers tomatoes and okra each week still have some eggplant producing.

I’m getting new lateral lines ran through garden. I’m giving up hoeing, weeding and spraying. Just going to grab and put up what I can a couple more weeks and demolish it.

Came in from work today only to find this.

I sent Big Moe to run a quick perimeter check and he quickly found the culprit holed up under an old water tank. I flipped the tank over and it was on!

Something about a bunch of pumpkins and temps dropping along with leaves changing is just absolutely beautiful to me.
