nothing in produce is little work. peppers are probably the easiest for me. but if your not doing plastic and drip irrigation the weeding and work will be a lot no matter what you plant. wanna make some quick money plant it to sweet corn right now and have the first local sweet corn of anyone around and you will sell out quick.

So Barney and others that have commented, we got out a couple romaine lettuce plants, broccoli, and cabbage. Put it out 1st week of April. When I can we expect this to produce? It’s growing for sure. Last year, put out our tomatoes, peppers, squash, cucumbers in early May. Was hoping to give that other stuff plenty of room to grow before adding summer stuff.

Depends on the individual variety maturity date. I would expect the lettuce to mature sometime in May, and the broccoli and cabbage in June. Broccoli is time sensitive. Basically if the plants were just sitting stunted in a nursery pack, it may head early with a small head. Cabbage can be stunted for months and take off and produce a full crop when planted.

All 3 are pretty heavy feeders, especially the cabbage and broccoli. Weekly miracle gro feeding will be very beneficial to them.

They have a bag of Miracle Gro mixed in the soil and I do the little bags that mix with water about once every 7 days or so.
