When I’m camping, everything is good.

TBH, most of my camping is done during hunting season and we either precook at home, freeze and reheat. Or, cook easy meals like spaghetti,hotdogs/hamburgers, etc.

I enjoy cooking at home but cooking while camping seems like a chore. Hopefully, you pull some fresh ideas out of the forum.

I love cooking especially steak! So that won’t be a problem! I figured on cheese burgers, steak, tacos. Things like that for supper. One of the friends (the youngest one going he’s 14) wants tacos twice so I’ll make a pig batch of those. Steak is of course on the menu medium rare if they ask for well done we ask them politely yet firmly to leave! And the classic cheese burger is one of my favorites! A good burger can beat a sirloin any day! Breakfast is gonna be oatmeal eggs bacon things like that. Lunch is hotdogs on the fire!

Had just that over a driftwood fire with a loaf of white bread many a night on river banks. I used to keep a freezer grill in my truck toolbox because I never knew where I'd end up on a Friday night!
little salt and pepper, fire lapping on the beef..... man, that's the life....

Getcha a big cast iron pan, toss some cut up potatoes, rosemary, olive oil or butter, and salt. Cover with foil and let em cook on the coals for a while cooking other stuff, stir them around a bit and toss em down the hatch when you can easily put a fork through them.
Some of the best campfire taters I’ve had
