I’m sure all brands do. I have Humminbird Helex 10 with a cable splitter for two transducers on the transom. Or could be used for one on transom one on trolling motor.
Do transom mounted transducers work when the boat is planed up and running 50 mph? I've been told they don't and you need the shoot through hull. Is that correct? thanks mc

Shoot throughs are much less aggravating as most transom mounts that will read at speed end up knocked out of adjustment regularly. They are very easy to mount to the floor, we epoxy them in just be sure to get all the air bubbles out between when you push the transducer down to the floor.

I have down side and forward trans for live imaging so would not use at high speed. I have a high speed trans that works up to 15 mph. I have a deep V Targa aluminum boat so I have too much air bubbles flowing under boat. Easy for fiberglass boats to shoot beam through hull. My understanding is it takes a special transducer to shoot through aluminum if you have no flow of air bubbles underneath. Yes high speed transducers will work but if you go through hull you won’t damage or knock out of alignment.

Anyone have information about shooting beam through aluminum boat specifically Tracker Targa 19. I guess I’m looking for location that worked.
Why not mount it outside of boat? You are right about bubbles from hull but I’ve ran 70 mph and not lost bottom on fiberglass boats before.

Maybe aluminum has more water distortion than fiberglass but you should get 2d readings at speed.

Mine is mounted outside now. Trying to get 2d at speed faster than 15 mph. Was half way between starboard side and motor. Also tried closer to motor. Aluminum boat light so on plane not much hull in water.
