Green River State Park Hunt

The time is upon us! We been trying to get more trad hunters together on this hunt. Those drawn can hunt the Park, those who are not still have plenty good hunting in the WMA around it. Good time to meet, greet, and eat together! Not this Thursday but the next, December 9th.
So who is going to be there this year?

There are three in my group coming.

Kevin Brown, Myself, and my grandson Mason plan to be there, possibly Bob Yutzy as well. The plan is to camp about where we did, tie boat up on nearby shore, and boat to our hunting spots. Id sure like to have ya’lls company. There will be plenty to eat, as usual.

Its a quota hunt for the state park there. We put in every year, get drawn about every other year. We finally decided to just go camp at state park campground every year, and just hunt the adjoining WMA on years we dont get drawn. I have talked about this for years, and we have finnally committed for what im hoping to be, our first annual. A good idea is take a boat, which you can tie on shore close to your campsite, and use it to access the hotspots easier, as WMA access is not always good.

U is right Randy! Found good hunting last year outside the Park, but the hills were too steep for this sickly ole codger! A boat would be a great way to go, hope to drag one along myself! Not having a camper we will probably be getting a room or cabin somewhere nearby. But will certainly spend time around the campfire with the rest of the intelligent folk gleaning from the loads of “wisdom” being shared. And doing my best to keep you all from eating too much!

Just look for the popup tent camper with redneck, easy up awnings, and sides. Its a conglomeration of mismatched stuff, but it works.

Looks like we could have some rain this weekend, but i have every intention of setting up camp on wednesday morning regardless. Everybody else in ?

Still in, but got a funeral to do Tuesday/Wednesday, leaving early Thursday morning.

Having fun with Carp, Mark, Blake, Kasey, Roy, and Kevin. We scarfed down a venison pot roast, tomorrow night venison backstraps, tater soup, and some kinda mystery meat Blake brought. Lots of stories told around campfire, mostly lies, excepting mine of course.
