Green River Trad Hunt 2022

The time is near! Not this week built the next Thursday. December 8th.
We did not get drawn this year but still plan to come and hunt the WMA.
Myself, Mark, Blake, and maybe Graw. Who else is in for our annual hunt?

Myself, Danny Howard, Kevin Brown, his Nephew, Bob Yutzy ( maybe), Eddie Alexander, Danny Whitehouse, Will Alexander, a friend of his, Mason Cheak. All drawn for state park hunt. I plan to setup camp and do some legwork wednesday, maybe tuesday.

Most camp in State Park Campground. Maybe Randy can give the spot numbers when he is back on. Last year my crew rented a cabin just outside park.

😝 I think the Being close to the bathhouse is due to not having a long cold walk to and from it in the cold weather, especially after a shower, that’s why I like to always be close to one anyway. 😂

Most likely Carp. Yes! Where the SCARENADER hit ! 😂 I’ll be in a camper, but some of the others may be in a box trailer, or maybe tent. I may just use the bathhouse to keep from having to winterize the camper again. Besides, that concrete block outhouse is comforting being close by when folks start getting sucked up into the sky ! 😬

Currently watching Mythbusters about mounted archers (traditional). They are testing whether it is true they obtain greater penetration at a 40 mph gallop.

Conclusion: seems slightly true but nothing consistent.

So, they switched-up their test to a compound crossbow and jeep.

Okay, I learned that the 500 year old myth stated horseback archers obtained DOUBLE the penetration. Elimination of variables, via the compound crossbow and jeep method, they busted the myth, but it is true that greater penetration occurs while in forward motion, two inches upon average at 40mph. You need to take horses with you this hunt. They can stay within the bathhouse beside Grinder.
