Hatch 2023

What’s anyone seeing? With reports of some seeing hens with numerous poults in states as far north as Maine & New Hampshire, I’m thinking we got a great chance of another good if not great hatch! Plenty of both undergrowth and overhead leaf out during hatching timeframe, I feel good about it! What say yaw?

I think it should be a good year. Less rain than usual will keep them from drowning.

Coyotes and Hawks will be hard on them. I popped a Coyote yesterday in the Hayfield. 1 less.

Has been ideal weather conditions, I’m trying to hold the hay cutting off some, I know a hen is in a certain area but can’t pinpoint it

Nest I found should hatch today based on her laying 12 eggs. I’m gonna take a peek next week and see if they hatched or if she lost it. The weather for the next month is what matters. Hopefully we get some night showers and temperatures stay up. Forecast is looking good.

I’ve got some cams out. I’ll pack the fox pro and AR when I go to pull them in a little bit. Overall weather has been good for Poults so hopefully it will be another good year
