I’d go back in the morning. Not worth taking the chance. Worse case you get a tracker out there after him.

6 inches of penetration ain't much. I'd say you hit shoulder and that's why the lack of it .Deer probably has a broke shoulder if so and will survive. The ball in the shoulder is almost non penetrable with a broad head

True but it is possible the broadhead went part way through shoulder and into one lung , either way probably is better to wait till morning , more likely then not it will bed , mark last blood and direction.. 6" of penetration will get you about 3rd of the way through a avg sized deer and certainly into one lung.

True but 1 lung deer are seldom recovered without a bay dog.

I've actually stopped going on those calls because the deer is never found dead. They are always seen again alive. I try to be upfront and honest with the person paying for her service that it's not a deadly hit.

I FOUND him guys looked last night in the dark before the rain I could hear the coyotes hollering. After a long hard tracking we found him. 12 point nice mass pictures don’t do him justice. Biggest deer I’ve ever killed. Thank y’all for everything.

Send the pictures to a friends phone then have them send them back to you then save that picture and try uploading it. Or try taking a screenshot of the picture then using that one to upload

Man that’s awesome! Glad you found him! Post some pics when you get a chance. I’m sure he’s a stud! Where exactly did you hit him vs where you thought you hit him?
